Kardium has received funding of up to $31.25 million from the Government of Canada through its Strategic Response Fund (SRF).

The funds will be used in Kardium’s $125 million project to expand the capabilities at its Vancouver, BC manufacturing site. The investment will expand the company’s Vancouver cleanroom to support increased manufacturing capacity while retaining key expertise, intellectual property, and jobs in Canada.

The company’s Globe system, an integrated high-density cardiac mapping and ablation system for cardiac pulsed field ablation (PFA), earned Health Canada approval last month. It gained U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance about a year ago.

PFA procedures with Globe allow single-shot pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) and customizable, targeted ablation using one catheter.
